Resetting Phone - Will it disrupt the root?

My phone was previously from Tmobile until I got it unlocked which I heard had to be rooted then. It's starting to get very slow to where I want to throw it at someone so I think I should reset it. Will resetting disrupt the root that is on it?

Rooting your phone is not required to Sim Unlock for use with another carrier. If your phone is properly rooted a factory reset will not change root. You may need to download your superuser app if it was not installed into system during the rooting process.

A factory reset will clear-out your apps, including the SuperSU app, but won't touch/affect the su binary (and other pieces/parts, depending on the version of root you have installed) in the /system partition.

So, other than having to reinstall the SuperSU ap from the Play Store, you should be good as far as root goes.

I don't know what device you have, but I'd encourage you to take a Nandroid backup (from your custom recovery) before you do this.

doh! ninjad'd by @Jfalls63 ;) :p.
