Root [Resolved] Alert: You have exceeded your maximum voice usage.

salmanal

Lurker
I get the above alert each time I power on the phone (about 30 seconds afterwards). I have Consumer Cellular and have removed all usage alerts in my profile, and CC removed the alerts on their system; nonetheless, the alerts still appear.

I asked customer support why this is happening and she told me it is because of Android. Huh?! I don't buy her answer. I have a no-voice usage plan because I am deaf. I don't touch the call button at all. I only use the phone for Web and text.

The phone is the Motorola Bravo, with 32 gb of memory; again, I am on a plan that allows no voice call usage, only Web or text (a Data-Only plan). With this setup, I still receive an alert telling me that I have exceeded my maximum voice usage.

The alert is just annoying, it doesn't interfere with my usage at all.

Same phone, same service, same issue until I uninstalled the Comsumer Cellular software on my phone AFTER setup, then ALL notifications go away, so beware. If you search CC FAQs they mention these chronic notifications, so customers can upgrade their service if desired, or something like that. Basicially it is a way for them to make money. Overall I am very pleased with CC, priced right for how I use my phone. I have a Nexus 7 coming, so my phone is simply a necessity.

Ha! Just as I thought Mr Geek. CC is still much better than AT&T (my old provider); AT&T's support could not have been any worse. At least CC understands English......

I'll opt for removing CC software. THX for the tip :D
