Resolved!!!!! Can I use an exchange to keep a double data plan phone in time for S III launch?

I see on Gottabemobile that Double Data ends July 7th.

As a current Verizon customer would it be possible to purchase a phone on July 7 with a double data plan and hopefuly exchange it for a S III, if it becomes available for purchase or pre-order by the 21st?

I don't see on Verizon's site what the policy would be if I returned the phone I bought July 7th and reactivated my existing phone. Is this even possible? I would rather wait and get the S III with a normal data plan than buy one of the current offerings, unless there is a significant price drop on the Nexus.

I had the date wrong to start, but anyway the end date is now the 30th!

Yes, you can exchange the phone with in 14 days and just pay the restocking fee. Don't think this would work with a pre-order.

If you return the phone you would cancel the new two year contract and go back to your original data plan.

*If your current phone is a 4G phone, people have had luck calling in to get the double data plan.

*Costco has a 90 day exchange policy for all mobile phones. If getting in on the double data is your motive before the family data share plan is implemented, this might be your best shot. Membership for Costco is around $40.

Sol many variables. I have a 3g Samsung Continuum and a 150mb data plan, I really screwed up not switching to unlimited while I still could. My two year upgrade isn't until August, but I can early upgrade with Verizon. I have read of people getting a two year upgrade early, I assume Verizon would have to authorize it. The Costco option would be great if I can swing an early upgrade there. Unfortunately they don't have the Nexus, which would be my second choice.

I saw that if I start an upgrade with Verizon I have to change phones within 14 days. If I did a return I would the have to pay full retail for another phonein the future.

Can't do early upgrade at costco. Only with cust svc or corporate store.

Yeah I don't believe that for a second. I doubt they will honor it even wirh the chat log. Those reps on chat are idiots! Seriously poorly trained!! Color me stupid if I'm wrong but everything else says it ended yesterday.

Shouldn't you have at least checked to see if the promo was still live before declaring it dead?

Sorry but I also call BS. I went to a VZ store yesterday and was told no S3 AND double data. So I picked up a 4G phone to just get me the data deal. I'll worry about upgrading to the S3 later, even if I have to pay full retail. Also, if you go on Verizon's site right now and order any phone that's currently available, the $30/4GB data deal is still alive. However, go and preorder the S3 and this is what you get:
