Restocking fee for defective phone (X)?

Has anyone that has returned a defective X been charged if they didnt want a replacement sent to them because they just didnt want to chance another one?

I'm sure if you argue, eventually they'll wave the restocking fee. What issue were you having?

Unless there is an actually issue with the phone, VZW is most likely not going to waive the restocking fee. Otherwise you will have people buying and returning phones just to try out new devices.

Verizon does not charge a restocking fee for Defective devices purchased online but for some reason the stores do. After you return the device to the store call customer service and they will refund the restocking fee.

Returned my Incredible and paid restocking fee. It wasn`t defective, unless you call poor performance defective.

If the store does end up charging you the fee for a defective phone just e-mail customer service and they will remove it.

There should be no restocking fees with a defective device replacement. If the stores are charging this, inform them politely they are incorrect and call customer care to have the store rep enlightened as to what the policy is.

I'm going to move this to the vz forum... Personally, I think you should fight this one.
