Restore Google Photos back to phone

Just got my phone back (Samsung S21+ 5G) from service and am now trying to restore my photos that were sent to Google Photos.
Every tutorial I read is wrong.
One says to go to the program, hold and select the photos you want to retrieve, then select restore at the bottom. There is no restore button at the bottom.
Next tutorial is similar, but says to open the ... menu and select download. There is no download option.

Open the app click on the photo you want so it's the only one on screen. Tap the 3 dots in the upper right.
Choose download.
Tada! It's now on your phone

if you backed up with google photos, you don't necessarily need to have the photo's on your phone anymore. as long as you have wifi or even a cellular signal, you should be able to access the photo and either download it or view it directly from the app.

Thanks for the replies.
So in a nutshell then, all my photos were backed up, there just is no easy way to return them to the blank phone? The backup and restore option is a bust with regards to photos.

You can access all of your photos if you get on a pc, laptop or mobile device, open a browser, and go to photos.google.com and login with your Gmail credentials.
Just know that you haven't lost anything, except on your blank phone, which you still can recover, using the method I suggested earlier
