RESTORE NOTE 4 TO PRE LOLLIPOP STATUS

unfortunately i accidently did the lollipop upgrade before I realized what it would change on my phone. I really enjoyed the slow motion, fast motion, clear motion. Is there anyway I can get them back?

No my friend I'm afraid not. One thing I notice is that most information that is given out usually does not involve VERIZON phones. I've been doing a ton of research and most things do not work for VERIZON phones when it comes to upgrades/downgrades etc... I've tried the above link and nothing worked for me. I'm willing to concede perhaps I did something wrong but after time spend slowly going over the instructions, watching videos, trolling webpages, im convinced the issue has to do with my note 4 is on verizon with it's firmware than me not doing something correctly. ok now that I'm off my soapbox.. Verizon is very maddening when it comes to just wanting to use the phone to it's full capabilities. now with said.

ANYONE WHO AS A VERIZON NOTE PHONE AND SUCCESSFULLY DOWNGRADED BACK TO KITKAT CAN YOU PLEASE, PLEASE PLEASE send me the info!!

My primary reason for downgrading is that I want to get back the camera functionality I had under kitkat. I really did like the slowmotion, fast motion, clear motion feature of the phone and would like to get them back. Under kitkat the feature worked PERFECTLY. Under Lollipop, the phone camera sucks.

i know your trying to help.. i know but the link you provided does not provide me with anything. i'm not asking or more links..more pages to read, blah. blah.. im tring to reach another verizon note 4 users who has been through it and can show the way. Everything & everybody is just speculating.

I figured the odds were in my favor on this board because i'm sure there are other verizon note 4 users who have reverted back to kit kat. Im trying to reach those people. Thanks for the assist though.

Ok.. i'm going to give a bit more context to my content.

I currently have a usa verizon note 4. it has the build of: (N910VVRU2BOF1). I'm using lollipop but want to rollback to kitkat. Why? because I enjoyed the fast motion, slow motion camera feature under KitKat that is no longer supported under Lollipop. If anyone can assist me I'll be eternally grateful. Please no more links of rollbacks that do not apply to this particular build, carrier, etc, . I understand and respect people are trying to help but so far nothing is working because the info that is out there does not apply to verizon note 4 phones.

Yes I very much would like your help. can you pm me or send me your info so we can chat et,

I had converted back to KK right after Verizon started sending out LP using the method posted on XDA. The LP version then was OAF. Since then LP got upgraded to OF1. Beyond that, Verizon sent out 1 or 2 updates to OF1 via OTA.

Now the bad news... In the last updates to OF1, Verizon incremented the bootloader from #1 to #2. According to hsbadr, a very respected member of XDA, if you have taken the latest updates to OF1 via OTA, you will not be able to revert back to either OAF or KK.

You can try to follow the revert thread here to see if you can do it, but don't be surprised if it doesn't work.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/not...w-to-roll-to-kk-4-4-4-lollipop-5-0-1-t3097054

Also, if you were smart enough (or lucky enough) in not taking any of the latest OF1 OTA's, and you did want to run OF1 for some reason (upgrade from OAF), then there's a thread on XDA on how to upgrade to OF1 via ODIN "safely" and not be blocked from reverting back to OAF or KK.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/not...nt/firmware-safe-upgrade-to-lollipop-t3155743

Basically, you're probably SOL for reverting if you've taken any of the latest OTA's from Verizon.

By the way, all the stuff you said are not supported in LP is still there... although located in another location.

I don't understand what you're trying to say. If you indeed downloaded all the OTA's (less the last one), then your phone should be on LP. Are you just saying your phone downloaded them and you didn't install them?

Yeah I took all and any of the downloads that verizon sent out OTA. I'm on (N910VVRU2BOF1). which according to your info and my research means I am SOL. THANK YOU FOR GIVING ME THE CLARITY I was seeking.

Can you show me where. I mean in LP there is a slow motion feature but the picture quality sucks. Its really bad compared to how it looked under KK. I did not see anything for fast or clear motion either so if you point me in the right direction i'd be much obliged.

I would love to but I'm back on KK so I don't have the same menus as LP. Every video mode is still there... but some have moved. I can tell you that there is no "clear" motion on KK. Are you perhaps thinking of "smooth" motion. If you are, it's still there, but they renamed it to something 60P... can't exactly remember the name. Do a search on Google for "Lollipop smooth motion" and you'll get a ton of hits on the subject.

Just a suggestion, there are other camera apps on the market. Try find some good ones. Because you are saying it was good before, this is most likely a software issue. Other camera apps are likely to not have this issue, and boom! Problem solved.

Yes I was on lollipop until I downgraded back to KitKat about 2 weeks ago. There are videos of how to by root junkies

I believe we already established that it cannot be done if you have build (N910VVRU2BOF1).
If however you do or did in fact have this build and successfully restored back to KK, would you please share how you did it for the benefit of other members who may desire to do the same thing. TIA.

My mistake , mine is a different build # ........ (duh) ..... ...... I'm still a noob I didn't completely read everything.

Final update: I contacted my carrier and they are sending me a new replacement phone that does not have the update. So thanks everyone for their timely support. I'll be creating a new tab, asking directions on how to prevent the upgrade from KK to LP. until then.. take care!!

I'm going to tell you this now because I needed to flash by phone three times before I managed to successfully turn off the auto update.

Step one: After inital set up disable mobile data and wifi (I didn't do this, but I will in the future if I need to revert again)
Step two: In settings go to About Device -> Software updates and disable Auto update.
Step three: Again in settings, go to the application manager and disable the software update package (under all tab).

Only after this did my phone stick at KitKat.

Regards,
Eric.

No need to start a new thread... I'll give you the answer right here.

Providing your phone does in fact come to you with KK installed, go to XDA forums and read this thread...

http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4-verizon/general/disable-knox-ota-root-t2972263

If the phone comes with LP (OAF version), go to the Debloater thread and disable all the same stuff that the KK thread above disables.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/debloater-remove-carrier-bloat-t2998294

Either way, be sure to read the first thread as it will tell much of what to expect when you disable Knox and OTA.

Once you have completed the above... you'll be in Kitkat Heaven until "YOU" decide otherwise! :D

SUPER GREAT NEWS!!! I SUCCESSFULLY MANAGED TO DOWNGRADE MY REPLACEMENT NOTE 4 BACK TO KK because the replacement phone I received had an earlier build!!! I did it by following the instruction as listed above.

Note to future note 4 users who want to downgrade back to KitKat, as of this thread YOU CANNOT ROLLBACK IF YOU HAVE BUILD (N910VVRU2BOF1)!!!

YEAH.. ALL IS WELL IN MY UNIVERSE..LOL.. now on to freezing the phone so it won't try to update to LP again.

Oh k.. im cooking with hot grease now. I just did the disabling the knox thingy so hopefully it wont update. If it does i'll come running back here.

Ok.. i figured out the bebloater thingy but there are still a few pkgs that won' uninstall because I don't know the correct name. For instance there is a game called. Clash of Kings... I cannot locate it's correct name. Any idea of how to locate it?
