I own both a Nexus 6 phone and a Nexus 7 (2013) tablet. Both backup to my google account. Yesterday I did a factory reset on the N6. It remembered the screen layouts and put everything back where it belonged when it restored all the apps after the reset. Today I did a factory reset on the N7. It did not remember any screen layouts at all although it did restore all the apps. Good thing I took screen shots so I can manually put things back where they were before the reset.
The N6 is at Android 7.0. while the N7 remains at 6.0.1, the last one available to it.
I checked the settings on both and didn't see anything. Did I miss something or is it simply a matter of the OS version with only the newer one on the N6 able to restore screen layout?
I know this is an old device but it still works for me.
