Help Restoring a backup

amey01

Lurker
My first post here, so sorry to come in an annoyed state!

Anyway - I really should know better than to upgrade a device, but curiosity got the better of me and I upgraded my HTC Legend to Froyo 2.2 today.

Now I can't get back anything at all!

Firstly, my backup on the SD card (I can see it sitting there!) is inaccessable. All the documentation talks about going to Settings --> Privacy, but there is no "Privacy" in 2.2! How do I go about restoring this?

Secondly, my apps. If I go to market.android.com on my PC and search for any app, it knows if I've got it installed, but I have to search for and install each individually. Selecting "My market account" gives only the apps I have recently installed - not all the apps that were previously installed!

I'm sure this is not a unique problem - I've tried searching so if there are threads that deal with these two issues, please point me there! Thanks!

Hello amey01. Welcome to Android Forums.

You may need to go into the recovery menu (with the phone off, hold the volume down key while pressing the power button.. navigate the menu that comes on with the volume up/down keys) to reset your device and start over with the stock OS (factory data reset).
