Restoring Date using TB

I do have TB working, but sometimes having to install a backup does not include the database. It will include the app and the purchased code, but it is the luck of the draw with databases. If the files have strange extensions, if the folder, file, and info are saved to the PC, can you put them back via USB link or dropbox? I can find the backups on the phone, but not in the TB zip.

Sibley Birds takes 2-3 freaking hours to update, other apps up to an hour as they all have large DB. This can be a total pain in the you-know-where. They all suggest wifi.

I usually copy the whole phone over to the computer but mostly files I created are there, like CSVs.

If memory serves, you should be able to configure TB to back up the "extra" data package for an application in addition to the apk and user data.

In Titanium Backup: Menu > Preferences > Backup app external data. You'll then have to pick an option; "Enabled" and "Disabled" are pretty self-explanatory (Disabled is the default, by the way).

Keep in mind that backing up this external data may make the backups significantly larger, so you may want to limit it to just specific apps. You can do this by choosing the "Enabled for apps within a chosen label" option and then assigning your chosen apps to the label you specified.

I hope that helps. :)

I just looked and you can also limit backup of external data by size in MB. Another option.

That helps. can I select and do a one time, then put back to normal? I can probably find some way to distinguish backups. I rarely do anything that needs to save anyway. I just keep backups current for installed/removed apps.

Pictures get TF'd to PC via cable.

I don't see a way to do it "on demand" (like by selecting an entry from the Backup/Restore tab). I think you'll have to do it based on those labels - and I admit that's not something that I've experimented with before. :dontknow:

No, I meant do a full backup one time and save it in a zip on my computer in a separate folder from the regular backups done as default on schedule.
