Help Restoring Samsung Backup To New Phone

Hi, I had a Samsung Galaxy S7 which died and I have purchased a Samsung Galaxy A52 5G. I have a backup (using Smart Switch) from my S7 on my PC. Can I restore this backup to my new phone?

should be fine.....smart switch will do everything for you. just start it on your pc and follow directions.

Turns out it's not possible from one phone to another. Only on same phone.

Smart Switch must be installed on both phones. I hope that is the problem you encountered.

I have Smart Switch on both phones. My old phone (S7) is dead. My new phone (A52) needs to be updated from the PC backup from my old S7. When I go to Smart Switch on my PC and open it and select "Restore", it says "your device data has never been backed up to this computer!
If I then click on "select backup data" and choose, "manually select file" and navigate to the PC, I have no idea what file I should be looking for. There are lots of folders with a file in each.
