Cool. If you're ok with it, I'd like to get you to the point you can compile CM13 to make sure the environment is set up correctly.

First step is to get Ubuntu 14.04 or 16.04 running with at least 50GB of hard disk, but I'd recommend 100GB minimum. You can dedicate a computer to this, dual boot with windows, or use a VirtualBox VM. Let me know if you go with 14.04 or 16.04, that'll influence the next steps. I've used both to compile CM so I don't recommend one over the other, just that 14.04 seems slightly faster.

I'll also be on ##LG_Volt on freenode if you want real time feedback

For my latest of update reason I haven't been able to do anything yet is because I'm waiting to get a laptop hopefully I can get one soon and start the process to start building the rom up
