Retaining Notification volume setting LG-P500

I've nearly gone nuts today trying to keep the notification volume setting on my two new LG-P500s. After clicking OK the slider always went back to maximum volume.

Finally worked it out:

Click on 'Use incoming call volume for notifications'. The unclick it and set your notification volume. For some reason it will then retain the volume setting.
