Help Retrieving data

[Ericathedino]

So i had a samsung galaxy alpha and it just gave out after a while and i was due for an upgrade so i got the galaxy s7 active . The problem is , i have poetry that is really important to me in the notepad of my alpha and it wont turn on. I need to get in this phone and retrieve my art. Is there anyway to get it to turn on or scan it for information. I dont know how it broke, so i dont know what parts of it are salvageable

It won't turn on in what way? Does it not fully boot? Does the led illuminate when connected to a charger ? Does it makes any sounds or vibrate? On a scale of 1-10 how dead is it?
