Help Retrieving info from SIMcard

I am trying to access old contacts from an old SIMcard. I got a SIMcard reader through my USP port on my computer, but cannot find any file. Any ideas on how to find this?

Never tried to read a SIM with a PC. But some phones do have an import contacts data from SIM function in their contacts app. Which you might find in the Contacts > Settings > Import/Export options. What phone have you actually got, make, model and Android version.

The old phone was a Samsung Galaxy S5. I now have an iPhone 6s, which do not use SIM cards. I am now trying to find old contacts that were saved to SIM card using a reader adaptor USB on my computer.

I'm pretty sure the iPhone 6s takes a SIM, otherwise wouldn't be able to get carrier service with it. Only exception might be if it was CDMA and not using LTE 4G, but probably can't do that now. Are you on Verizon or Sprint or China Telecom or something? If you got a micro-SIM originally from the S5, you would have to cut it down to nano-SIM to fit the iPhone 6s. I don't know so much about iPhones, this is Android Forums, :) do they not have an import contacts from SIM feature? Most Android phones do.

As I've said, I've never tried to read a SIM with a computer. Presumably the PC with the SIM adapter sees it as a removable USB storage device, similar to a USB thumb-drive. As you seeing any data at all on the SIM with the PC?

Samsung I am sure do have an import/export, sure the option is on my dad's, if it's not answered by the time I see him I will have a look.
If you can find the export from sim option, you can then export the contacts to vCard (.vcf or something) then copy that from phone to computer, then over to iPhone. the export to vcard is definitely there as I know I have done that for dad in the past. I think it would be just as easy to just export all contacts to vCard and copy over in first place.
