Return of the Mute Button!!

I've just added the latest Lollipop update (G900FXXU1BOB7) OTA to my S5 and the Mute button/option has returned!

The Notifications option has now changed to 'Do not disturb' via which you can 'Mute all calls and alerts, except for your selected exceptions'.

Would be good if it was like before when you could say e.g from 10pm to 8am do not disturb except for then add exceptions....
The new way looks like you will have to turn it on and off manually to receive all msg

Thanks for that, looks like I will be downgrading to KitKat 4.4.4 coz along with the other stuff which is missing or keeps crashing it was better before for me. And a lollipop fix version 1 isn't there yet.

You are able to still schedule when sounds/notifications are active or not -

Hope this helps,

My Lollipop update hasn't got a silent or Mute profile/option ? Are you SIM free or with a carrier ?

Hi, my handset is a UK SIM free/unlocked handset.

I've had two updates recently, the first around 900mb which upgraded to Lollipop and then another which was about 300mb which included the return of the Mute option/button.

Depending on your carrier, you may not have too long to wait. Telenor of Norway managed to get the OB7, Mute Button and Screen Pinning firmware, back to Samsung and out to customers in only 11 days after the first release. See, here. :)
