Return without receipt?

If I have the box, can I return the phone to HTC to have it fixed if there is an issue? I'm getting one off of Craigslist an it has the box.

if the handset needs repair, HTC will fix it for a cost of course. you do not need the box but you may need to provide proof of purchase.

none of us can really give you 100% on this, so its recommended to contact HTC directly. Its a fairly new handset so you should not have much of an issue. be prepared to pay handsomely for service on it.

what exactly is wrong with the unit? do you not have sprint insurance?

give us the backstory.. perhaps others can provide better information.

If you start service on the device you have 30 days to put it on the insurance program as well. No receipt needed.

I already have Sprint, the Epic, just switching phones. I'm buying this used so if there is something wrong later down the road I need to know my options. Basically I'm wondering if there is a manufacturer warranty on the phone.

yes there is. its related to manufacturing issues and not personal damage however, just like any typical handset warranty from HTC and other handset makers.

this is where sprints TEP insurance fills the gap.

It doesn't matter if you already have sprint service. Anytime you add a new, to you, device you have 30 days to add the insurance. So if you are worried just add the insurance when you add the device to your account.
