Root Returning a Rooted Phone

I could seriously use some pointers here. I have to send a DINC2 back for replacement. Problem is it's rooted. Bigger problem...it was rooted with UnRevoked which locks hboot and prevents updates to hboot. I have flashed a RUU mostly successfully but it always bypasses the hboot update. So now I am stuck with a mostly stock phone but the bootloader has "-Revolutionary-" at the top and is S-OFF. I need to fix this but because of issues with the phone (hence the return) I can only flash off the SD card or use fastboot - I'm lucky fastboot even works and sadly I can't use adb. More phone issues ---- the phone won't boot past the HTC splash screen....please, anyone have any suggestions?

install this hboot:
PG32IMG_downgrader_hboot_vivow.zip

it will replace the revolutioary one,and is overwriteable.

afterwards,run your ruu again

make sure the md5 sum matches 3ff6bcc1b6e5ecde87c268f7f078d843

youre welcome there are other ways to skin the cat,but that is the easiest,especially with a non-booting phone.
