returning to honeycomb?

i have given up with ics, my bionic ran great on Honey Comb. so i was wondering, if i root my bionic and return it to HC, will the phone ever automatically install the ICS update (rendering my efforts useless)? or is there a way for me to prevent the phone from doing that?

I am sorry to say even if you are rooted you can not go back to GB (HC was for tablets). The securities are different and will not allow the downgrade.

Have you done a factory data reset since you went to ics. When you switch from gb to ics there are a lot of issues and most can be solved with a FDR.
