Help Returning to stock Moto X

Also, there is option in the phone's settings that will allows the user to cut off all data once a certain amount has been used

How much data do you have with your plan. ? Most apps running in the background don't use much data unless you're streaming, listening to music or using your GPS

While you say that, I found that Google Play Music had the setting to pre-cache music for my playlists set, and it was burning through data (and battery) while I was not listening to music for hours.

I also understand the problem with a shared plan with four devices. We have a family plan with just such a setup (on Verizon) and every phone kept getting texts (free, but still a pain) from the carrier first warning that we were close to going over, then pretty regularly after we went over, one month when we went over. If the OP is a kid getting grilled by a parent about data plan usage - well, I can see why the OP is interested in tightening the usage up a bit. (FWIW, as the parent, I didn't rake my kids over the coals that month...)

Yes, that's right, great idea. The only unfortunate thing it that it doesn't measure what the carrier has metered for all devices on the plan - just what the phone has used. However, you could set it very conservative - say, 50 MB - and then just bump it up by 25 to 50 MB when you need to use data.

Great idea.

I have 10GB bit have 4 phones on the plan.

Well that gives 2.5 GB each, unless you are doing much usage, you most likely go over, now with that said again, if you're using GPS, or music then that is a different story. I have my phone connect auto to all AT&T WiFi areas, and when at work or home I automatically connect to me WiFi and I barely even come close to my 2.5 GB. But with all that said, the boys gave you a lot of options, now you simply have to choose your path. ;)

You could also switch to AIO which is owned by AT&T, and data is unlimited, you get 2.5GB on LTE and balance is throttled to 3G if you go over the 2.5, so if you're not under contract might be a viable option.

I will have to talk to the account owner. But that seems like a good option.

Would it allow a downgrade, or will an. older, stock ROM work? If you're asking the former, only if you're rooted. If you're asking the latter, I don't see why not.
