Review: Landvo S6 (Galaxy S6 clone)

Hi guys,

I have just completed my review of Landvo S6, find it here:
http://blog.arinium.fi/2015/07/review-landvo-s6/

For "too long; did not read":
The phone is physically an obvious 1:1 clone of the Samsung Galaxy S6 but the chassis is still thin and solid. The primary camera is good for the price point (~100 €) but the secondary camera is pretty much useless. Also the digitizer is insensitive, meaning that you may need to press it several times before it registered the touch. Even with its flaws it could be good alternative for a secondary phone or for a phone for a child.

You mentioned that you can't get call recording on mainstream phones without a custom rom - that's not accurate.

Thanks for the info, my knowledge was that it is not possible with the "big brand" phones. Could you tell me an example which one has the call recording feature?

Your information is a few years out of date and was primarily blamed on the Snapdragon S4 processor family when it was a problem.

The problem has been solved for Samsung, HTC, Sony, Motorola, LG, Huawei, and Nexus, all without root by a number of apps, here's one example.

Check out "Call Recorder | Boldbeast"

You said - "None of the “mainstream” Android smartphone manufacturers (Samsung, HTC, Sony, LG) support phone call recording at all. It is available in some of the custom ROMs, such as MIUI, for the big brands. Call recording was possible with a 3rd party app on Nokia phones but it resulted in nasty “beep” sound that was constantly audible on the receiver end."

It's now supported, no custom rom required, no nasty beeps, no sound quality issues, no need to try it with the speakerphone, no big deal.

OK, thanks. I thought it was possible out-of-the-box and without an app :). But good to know that it is possible with a third-party app nowadays!

I didn't mention included in the box, sorry if it seemed that way.

Android has no 3rd party apps, iOS does - Android has add-ons. Any app can be made the default for its domain in Android.

I quoted your article -

You said that the feature was not supported without a custom rom and otherwise unavailable for the brand name phones.

That's not so.

You are absolutely correct, I should rephrase it. And thank you for the information, I did not know it.
