Rezound Mail app

Seems like most of the time when I get new email, it doesnt show up right away in the stock mail app.. even when I hit refresh.. but then it will finally notify me like 5 minutes later?
The gmail app is instant but I thought I would try out the stock mail app for a while since my Rezound is brand new.
Is this an issue or ?

i've never used the stock email app on any android phone. So I couldn't tell you. Did you not like the gmail app? or were you just wanting to try all the diff aspects of the phone?

I like the gmail app.. but i have a yahoo and a gmail account and I liked how the stock app can handle both. Also I came from a DROID3 with CM9 and the gmail app on there was the ics flavored version. I thought they updated gmail for all phones but the app on the Rezound still looks like the old gmail.
I just figured I'd try it out instead of having a gmail and a yahoo app
It would be cool if it just pushed my email as soon as i get it.

The stock mail app is no good. I noticed the same thing. Lots of options out there that work better like K9 and Kaiten and Enhanced Mail. I suggest you try one of those.

I'll give K9 a shot. Anybody install the ics leak? I'm wondering if the new sense has a better working mail app

Not sure if this will help, but I had issues with the stock HTC Mail app when I connected up my Yahoo account too. It gathered all my IMs up top instead of mail, and it was a little clunky, even compared to the previous version I used on the Droid Incredible.

Now, instead, I just use Gmail to receive my Yahoo mail in. There's an option in the Gmail web-client called 'Check mail from other accounts (using POP3)' which makes all email sent to my Yahoo account is pushed to Gmail (which provides reliable notifications and keeps everything in sync).

What I noticed on the stock HTC mail app is the notification for mail is much better looking than on the g-mail app. The HTC mail app gives a bright purple notification for yahoo mail and a bright red and white for g-mail.

Does it let you send mail from your yahoo account?

K9 is not working for me. I just refreshed my Yahoo account and it loaded 2 emails from around 12 noon. It's 4:30. I added my Yahoo to my Gmail so I'll have to see how that works.. If it doesn't then it's just back to the yahoo app I guess..

Yes, Gmail does. There will be a pull-down from phone or web to "send as" your Yahoo account when you compose mails, though I think it will say "via Gmail". Works pretty well for me, but admittedly only a few people use my Yahoo account these days (like my aging parents, so I didn't have to confuse them with email address changes!).

I use Enhanced Email and I don't have any issues. I've tried a few others but keep coming back to Enhanced.

I would love to try enhanced email, but paying over 160+ a month for 3 lines doesnt really allow me to purchase expensive apps.

I set up yahoo to work on my gmail but I couldnt get it to work.. Wasn't getting any yahoo emails. So I just gave up and went back to using gmail and yahoo apps..
it really shouldnt be so freakin hard to get email pushed to my smartphone but then again i'm probably just dumb.

Does Enhanced Email push Yahoo mail for you, or do you have it set to poll for mail? I tried Enhanced but there is no option for Yahoo push.

The things I don't like about Enhanced.....no notification summary of the new email. Just, you have mail from X account. Sometimes I will see a message on the server and when I try to DL it I just get a spinning refresh indicator but the message box stays empty. My guess is that this has something to do with graphic intensive emails. The email summary that you do see is in your inbox is too short and there is no way to add another line. Kaiten doesn't have any of these issues. However I don't like the confusing settings menu and this first class second class box options.

Have you tried Kaiten and prefer it over Kaiten?
I have not tried Kaiten. I've tried k9 and a few others. Also I got enhanced when it was the free app of the day on amazon so I didn't pay for it.

As far as push it seems to just be set up for polling (so no push) but I haven't had any issues and you can set it for 1 minute polling.

K9 and a few others seemed to have issues if I was contented to wifi it would give me a connection error message while checking my emails. But so far I haven't had any issues with Enhanced.

Same issue here. Just switched from WebOs to the Rezound and I cant believe how many issues there are with email apps. I really dont like the Gmail app. for some reason i find it hard to read and there are no options to play with the view,, shadding, number of lines something. The stock app looks good but it wont push gmail or exchange. How weak is that? It should work?
