So I'm not sure if this is Incredible-specific or Verizon-specific, but I was trying to figure out what the number of rings mean when I call another Verizon phone (both Incredibles that we've been 'testing' on).
Previously we had an Alias and a Voyager. Normally it rings 6 times or so (around 32-35 seconds) before going to voicemail. It of course rings once when the phone is turned off and hits voicemail right away. At times in our apartment, we noticed it would ring twice before heading straight to voicemail and could not figure it out, but knew it usually happened when place on our bed. Also if the phone is turned on but is not getting any signal (ie when we'd drive 7 stories underground to park the car in a highrise condo complex) the phone would ring 4 times before heading to voicemail.
So far with our two new Incredibles, it's about the same for a normal ring (6-7 times, 32-35 seconds) and we are still getting that weird random 2 ring problem (but only when the phone is at certain spots at home).
I've also noticed it maybe rings 3 times before going straight to voicemail - we think it's when we're using the internet or browsing mail. Which is weird that it won't go the ful 6-7 rings. Any thoughts on why? And throughout the day yesterday even with full service, it often would only ring 4 times before going to voicemail just walking around downtown. All other days downtown it went the full 6-7.
