Ridiculous android OS usage

Hey guys,

First time poster.

Got a new Samsung s7 edge 3 months ago. First month was free data so didn't pay attention to data.

Second month I used 2 gigs of data in first 2 days. Realised that android OS had used majority of that. I then turned all ALL background data usage. Sometimes accidently turn it back on for a bit, but then turn it back off as soon as I realise it's on. Last month my android used ~4gigs of data ie half my monthly data allowance.

This month, I still have 10 days left of my monthly cycle and my android OS had used >4.5gigs data in 18 days, even with background data turned of 95% of the time. I've attached a photo as proof.

Ive checked every other single other android device my friends have, and their android OS uses ~100-500mb.

Can someone please help before I throw my phone against a wall? Thank you!

Can see four applications there that have used over 1GB each, and total for Android OS is 4.64, so I'm guessing that Android OS is counting the data used by those apps, or possibly others down the list, like Instagram. Intenet is your browser, don't know what Bumble or CastBox are though.

This "Android OS" data usage has become a bit of a FAQ of recent.

Nah unfortunately it isn't. If I scroll down, I can see the other apps on my phone such as Facebook, instagram etc. Bumble is dating app and cast box is podcast app.

I can tell that it's not other apps because the 4.5gig of data is all background data, 0.00gig foreground data.

Sorry also forgot to mention that I've used 9 out of 11gigs this month, so the android OS data usuage isn't the total amount of data used by the phone.
