A few weeks ago I took out my sd card to update my media through card reader since I can't connect my s2 to my pc via usb. This is the only method I can use and I don't do it that frequently. The last attempt I had a problem which wiped all the data and I had to put all the folders and files back in the card.
After that I got poor battery life which I attributed to the calibration so I recalibrated the phone. Now the battery life seems fine except for when I'm using the music player. From around 86-90+ percent battery life, I'm down to 20-30% within four hours or so of usage. Before all this I was able to play the music player all day without battery drain issues.
I don't know if it's the calibration or something I did when I put all the music and video files back in the card now in different folders from before but basically following the same structure. Could this be somehow causing issues with the os, using up more ram to access the files therefore more battery life? I'm thinking it's the music player because using wifi doesn't seem to have the same accelerated drain on my battery as the music player.
I'm using a galaxy s2 plus purchased earlier this year. Like I said, no problems with the battery drain prior to removing and replacing data on the card and having kept the battery out for an extended period of time.
