Ring Manager

I sometimes turn my phone to silent or vibrate and forget to turn it back up later and I miss some important calls. I know the easy thing to do would be don't turn the volume down, but I have like two or three people I need to make sure they are able to contact me. Is there an app that will ring the phone no matter what the volume or vibrate is set to? Thank you in advanced.

Welcome to the forums tigerweld. It depends on which phone and operating system you have. On my Samsung Galaxy S2 running jellybean there's a setting called blocking mode that lets me do that. I have no idea what phone or operating system your using so I cannot answer your question.

Unfortunately on the Motorola Razr blocking mode is well... hidden you could say and of December 2012 even when you could bring it up it didn't actually work. I'm hoping that with system updates since then Blocking mode may work on your phone. Here's how to create a shortcut to it on your home screen;

First download the QuickShortcutMaker app from the play store and install it.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sika524.android.quickshortcut

Using that search for blocking mode.

Click on the first one. There should be two.

Rename it. to "blocking mode "

A shortcut will then be created on the home screen for blocking mode. All props to Wopback from Droid Forums for finding that procedure.

Here's a quick guide on how blocking mode should work from the rescue root site. A quick guide to the Samsung Blocking mode

As you can see from the guide if blocking mode is working you can setup a schedule when your calls and notifications are blocked so if you're in a meeting or classes you won't be disturbed by unwanted calls. The best part of blocking mode is that you can let callers on your contact list that you really need to get through do that even though blocking mode is on for all other calls.

I hope this works for you. Otherwise we'll have to find a 3rd party app to kind of do what you want.
