Ring tone - mind of its own

Hi, wonder if any one can shed any light for me... I have set my ringtone to ring as a song I have loaded on Double Twist. Calls ring as i would expect for many days/weeks. Until for no reason and without any "request", the ring tone changes to a rather annoying alternative tone.

It happens quite randomly. I can reset the ringtone again and all works well, until again, some time later, without warning it just changes to this default tone.

Anyone any ideas on whythis is and how to fix?

Mine changed itself from a song to no tone, did it when I mounted my phone as a usb device, this what yours does?

Is the song on your SD card ? Perhaps you have a problem with the card - if the SD card isn't there the phone has to pick another ringtone (I only know this from when I've received calls while the phone was plugged into a computer so the SD card wasn't available - freaked me out first time it happened).

If the song is on SD you can always move/copy it into internal memory and see if the problem goes away (make sure it's the internal version you pick as a ringtone).

so - yes, now i think about it it does only happen when/after it has been plugged in through USB.

It does not happen every time, but I recall yesterday, when i uplugged it, an "SD card" message appeared in the top left of the screen - I can't recall exactly what it said... SD initializing perhaps, or something similar. So maybe the song is stored on my SD card and as it had trouble finding the card, it resorted to a standard tone.

I will look at changing where i store the song. Thank you both.
