Help Ring tone says callers name.

HELP!!!

When my phone rings it also says the callers name. I have searched through the menu to turn this off and cant figure it out. I downloaded an old style ring tone from Zedge but it is not this that is causing this.

Should be able to find it under accessibility, voice notify.

Go here:

Settings/Language and input/Read Notifications Aloud/Calls from Favorite Contacts/ (click the box )

this only works IF you have the contact marked as a Favorite.

__Other check boxes are Messages, emails, Calendar events, Alarms

I am assuming that you do not have a caller ID app installed.

No caller ID app. Should I?
I haven't gone into any of the accessability stuff at all.

mother Verizon supplied a Caller ID app on the phone, to enable it, you pay them $2.99/month on your phone bill. nah, I use Reverse Caller instead.
but that is only good for landlines, not wireless phones.

Could go into the accessibility menu, see if voice notify is turned on or not. That would be the likely reason that the caller IDs are being announced.
