Help Ringtone Apps

Hello...after downloading and uninstalling at least a dozen ringtone apps I have given up trying to figure out how to do the ringtone download. I have an Verizon LG G3 VS985 that does not have the same icons in the taskbar that is noted in the ringtone apps. I have a single box on the right of the taskbar and the apps show a double box. I am far from being anything but a complete novice in regards to android and apps. Can anyone recommend a ringtone app that is simple (like me) that will allow me to download a music piece that I have in an MP3 file on my computer?
Thanks for any info, help, headache pills, etc. before I completely lose it!

Uh, if it's in an mp3 file in your computer, you can just plug it in to your computer, copy the file and use it as tones.
