Ringtone as alert?

I downloaded a few short ringtones but for nor they are saved in my music file and I want to know how to get them into my ringtone area, plus can I use them as a text alert or email alert? Thanks in advance!

Well if you have astro file manager you can find the file, long press it and pick Set as

As for text, just go to your texting app and its notification settings. There's probably a ringtone selecter. For email just go to settings and pick sound and it should let you choose ringtones.

ive tried the whole astro file thing and im having kind of the same problem. Im trying to add a downloaded song file to the notification sound.

Did you use an app or download them on the comp and then transferred them to your SD? Will THIS post help?
