Ringtone for specific contact

[Craig Gregoire]

Is there a way to assign a ringtone to a certain contact so that you know it's them calling?

I did this on my Droid Maxx, but can't seem to find a way on the Turbo.

I got really tired of learning a new phone app every time there was a major update of Android on any of my Motorola Droid phones and converted to ...
Pixel Phone Pro – paid – phone/contacts finally done right
... and it has that capability,

I don't have a Turbo at this point, but does this work?: https://www.howtogeek.com/252852/how-to-set-custom-ringtones-for-specific-contacts-in-android/

You really should be able to edit the individual contact and assign a ringtone to that contact without a third party app.

Not necessarily. The contacts app that is built into the Moto X Pure doesn't have a ringtone line for each contact. I also use a 3rd party.

I just tried this with the native Phone app on the Turbo running 6.0.1 and it works.
