Help Ringtone help

I had some issues with my phone last week and deciding it was time for fall cleaning, I FDR'd the phone. Before this I had about 9 ringtones, some mp3's and some wma's, that were in the media/audio/ringtone directory on my external sd card. They were all available to be used as ringtones. Since the FDR, I can't get them to show up at all (as a ringtone choice.) The files are still there and they all still play (I have checked all of them.) I have tried moving them to a ringtones directory directly off the root of the extsd. I have tried moving them to the internal storage in a ringtones directory. I have tried multiple times to "add" them via the ringtone chooser dialog box and nothing works. Anybody have any ideas? Just to be clear, before the FDR they were all available and they all worked fine.

TIA

Have you checked other card-scanning apps to see if the phone is done re-indexing the SD card? Do all your pictures and videos show up in the Gallery? Does the stock music player have everything back?

Try unmounting and then remounting the SD card to force the system to scan the sd card. Not all changes are picked up instantly. Sometimes the card must be forced to scan or a reboot is required.

BRG, I had a similar problem sometime back and had a heck of a time figuring out a solution. Old fart that I am, I've forgotten my fix, but if I recall it, I will post here.

Sorry.

Darnell,

Thanks. I downloaded an app to re-scan the SD card and had all sorts of problems. So I uninstalled and rebooted, unmounted the card, pulled it and reinserted and now I have my ringtones back.

Thanks for the help,
