Help Ringtone issues after ICS

So I've been reading other threads and I can't find anything that necessarily pertains to my issue or how to fix. I apologize in advance if there is already another thread that covers this and I missed it.

Since the ICS update my ringtone is consistently resetting itself to the default tone. I'll change it back to my choice [which worked perfectly fine before the update] and it'll play maybe once when I get a call, then it will reset to the default. My phone is not rooted, all of the files play when I select them and work [but only once or so then reset] and they are all on my sd card>media> ringtones in the folder with my music and notifications. My ringtones can from mixer, most of them were on the sd card i switched over from my previous phone, a sidekick 4g.

Also, does anyone have issues now with almost every app crashing, all the time, after the update? It doesn't cause real issues, it's just super annoying.

I'm really not even sure what my problem is here, so I haven't much of an idea how to search to fix it. Thank for any help or points in the right direction

Did you do a factory reset after the update?
 
I also had trouble with the ringtones not working right. I moved them to the phone and they seem to work better that way.
 
I'm also having the same exact problem(s). The Force Closing has stopped for the most part, I haven't noticed it in the last day or so.

As for the Ringtone thing. I was using Zedge and I have the same Problem. I don't even get to hear my custom ringtones one time before it reverts to the atrocious default ringer that scares the bajeezus out of me.

Not only that, but before the update I bought a few Ringtones from the Verizion ringtone store, they worked completely fine, as they should. After the ICS update they also revert back to the default tone.

Is there anything I can do besides Factory Reset? Driving me a tad nuts. lol
 
There are many issues caused after the update to ICS.
From personal experience, it is always best to do a Factory Reset after any update.
 
Factory resetting works wonders. I know that many people (Moto included) said it isn't necessary, but in my opinion, it is. After the reset, you may or may not notice a world of difference but rest assured your phone is now going to run better whether you notice it or not. Just do the reset and and if you find it didn't help, call up Big Red and have them replace it. You will get a used phone, but if it works right, that doesn't matter.

Alrighty guys, well thank you heaps, I'll give it a reset tonight :3

Last night I started getting a new symptom where when switching through home screens the background would sort of stutter. It started doing it in apps too and it's never done that before, so I'm thinking somethings a bit off.
