Ringtone volume low then increases?

Probably a SUQ but.... I have an LG L39c. When someone calls me and the phone starts to "ring", the volume of the ringtone is very low and then slowly increases in volume. I've looked for a setting for this but I'll be darned if I can find anything for it.

As a noob, I thought maybe this was normal behavior, but my wifes Samsung doesn't show this behavior.

Any pointers?

Edit: Nevermind - found an app that will nuke the behavior

Try running in Safe Mode (disabling all apps you added without uninstalling them) and if the problem stops it is caused by an app that you added.

Thanks Thom. From what I saw, it's a known "feature" on some phones (LG's being one of 'em) The app fixed me right up.
 
The quiet part of the increasing ringtone before it jumps to regular volume, for Samsung Galaxy S4 anyway, lasts 2.1 seconds. This is useful if you use Ringdroid to make your ringtones and you know when you want the ringtone to start.
