Ringtones from internal storage?

I've been using the stock music player to trim songs and then set them as my ringtone, however every time I mount my SD card the ringtone reverts back to stock and I have to reset it. Is there a way/app that can let me trim a song, store the trim on the phone (not SD card) and then use it as a ringtone?

Good question because this pisses me off.

What version of android are you running:confused:

Because I have custom notifications and ringtones on my sdcard just like you. The phone always reconnects the paths and plays the custom sounds after mounting the card.

I woudl love to know this too, as if I set the phone to connect to mount the SD-CARD as mass storage when on USB then it disabled the SD ringtones and wall papers when I have the phoen even on the charger!

If you use an app like Ringdroid, then it will trim and store the ringtones in the internal storage. This way the problem of mounting/unmounting the SD card is gone.
