Help Ringtones "ghost" entries

Oren09

Lurker
I make my own ringtones and I have been moving my files around a lot recutting the songs for my new phone since it supports higher bitrates.
In doing this, I there are now "ghost" entries in the Android System ringtone picker. The song titles are there, but when you tap on them, it plays the default phone ring sound. This happens anytime I move, rename, or remove a file. I now have several songs listed in there as many as four times because I keep changing my folder hierarchy (I'm very organized).
Is there some way to refresh the ringtone list so the phone can see what files no longer exist and remove their entries.

Also, the "ghost" entries are not still set as contact ringers.

It sounds like you might need to do some house cleaning. I'd remove all custom tones from all folders in the device, clear cache on the phone and messaging apps, reboot and carefully re-install the ones I need.

I figured it out.
I forgot to post it, sorry.

The application Ringdroid is responsible. If I delete the old ringtone listing from the app is also disappears from the Android picker.
