Ringtones in 2.1

I can't seem to get ringtones to work in 2.1. I uninstalled Quick Settings but that didn't help. The settings don't seem to stick once you accept the ringtone you want and exit. Wtf? Any ideas?

What EXACTLY are you doing (so we can find out what's going on)?

FWIW, they work fine for me.

From home screen>Settings>Sounds & Display>Phone Ringtone>Switch from Innovation to Jack>Press Ok>Do a test call and ringtone did not switch.

Also, I think it has been mentioned elsewhere but specific ringtones for contacts won't stick either.

Specific ringtones have worked fine for me. Default ringtone is working properly as well (using same method and tone as you listed)....

Not sure what to tell you Try a reboot and see if that helps

I seem to be having a similar issue. I'm new to forums so bear with me if I unwittingly break any protocols. I've downloaded ringtones from myxer and can play the files in the media player, but when I hold down on the song from a playlist the option to set it as a ring tone is not there. Just purchased the phone on Saturday and loaded 2.1 the same day. Any help is greatly appreciated.


Figured this out on my own. Hope I didn't waste anyone's time.

Put them in a folder called "ringtones" on your SD card.
