I just got my new nexus s today and i want to know how to get a song from my itunes into my phone and use it as a ringtone

Assuming you have your iTunes library on your PC, you plug in your phone to your PC and put it in mass storage mode. Copy the files to the phone and just to keep things easy, use the same folder structure as iTunes ... music/artist/album/tracks.m4a
Then disconnect the phone and use an app like Ringdroid to make it a ringtone.
