Help ringtones

I'm really new to the whole smartphone thing I just purchased a Droid 3 and had some custom ringtones on my PC I have saved in media player and separate folder in named download , I'm running windows 7 . Anyway I thought I could sync up my phone with these ringtones and I did. I didn't get an option as to where I could save them . There now reside in the music folder of the phones internal storage . From I've been reading I need to save them to a folder on my sd card named ringtones , however I cannot figure out how to move them there or if this is the right thing to do . They are mp3 files ringtones . Any help would be truly appreciated as I have seen and read alot but nothing exactly as to what I'm experiencing , I'm there is a thread out there I just haven't found it.
