Help ringtones

Hi new to forum and new to smart phone. Im ok at computers no where near most of you, but anyways had a question about geting a ringtone as a text, how do use it as a ringer. Thx in advance puregreen
 
Uhm.... First thing I did when I got this phone was put a couple songs from my computer on my phone via USB. Then downloaded an app called mp3 ringtone maker. Made all my alarms and ringtone from that. Never used the app again, so I deleted it.
 
is the sound clip an mp3? if so i'm sure the mp3 ringtone maker would work. just download the file from the text.

like for my notifications i have it set to the doink doink sound from law & order that I downloaded off a website. All I did was download it, then went into settings/sound/notification ringtone. - this might be a possibility for you.

The MP3 ringtone maker is more for editting full length songs into short clips for ringtones/alarms
