Help Ringtones

Dustmaye

Lurker
Good Afternoon All,
Is there a way to remove that annoying "Verizon Wireless" voice from all the incoming call ringtones? I have made some my self and transferred to my Razr. Then when a call comes in that voice comes in the middle of the ringtone then it starts over. So I actually only get to hear a few seconds of the tone before it starts over. Very annoying and was hoping it would only show up in the default ringtones provided.
Also is there a way to change the notification ringtones? I use Gmail and it defaults to whatever ringtone is set for my text messages. I would like to have specific notification tones for emails, text's, and pic messages. Even different text notifications for specific people would be nice too so I know who it's coming from without even looking at my phone. This was an option with other phones I've had.

Is any of this possible. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

I suspect that Caller Id Readout turned on. I believe this happens by default with the car dock and can mistakenly not turn of. My mother als managed to do this mysteriously on her axtrix. Go to Settings -> Call Settings and change the Caller Id Readout setting to ring only. This should get rid of the sythesized voice in the ringtones for all calls.

In your contacts you can set a ringtone for each contact individually, or leave it as default. I don't know of a way to customize the notification sound by app or contact ... but perhaps there is an app for that.

Yeah I checked that but it's not it. The caller read out just says the persons name or the phone number. Then it even says "Verizon Wireless" twice after that. It's currently off.
Does anyone else have this issue too? I find it ridiculous that they would have that in every ringtone. It's annoying.

Thanks!
