Ringtones

Hello. Just got mu first smartphone (Kyocera Event) with Virgin Mobile. Is there a way to create a ring tone from music on my computer?

You can use any MP3 as a ringtone.

Just create a folder on your PHONE memory called "ringtones". Do not use your SD card (if you have one) to store ringtones or you may not be able to use that ringtone while connected to a computer.

Then place the the MP3 into the "ringtones" folder and you will have it as a ringtone option.

Yeah ringtone cutter apps so you can trim down an mp3 to start at the right point then assign it as a tone. Havent used one in a while but think i remember one called Ringdroid.
Also in some android music players, when youre playin a track and hit Menu, you get the "use as" option then hit "ringtone"

If your phone is Jelly Bean you should probably put the ringtone on the phone, not just the sd card. I have run into issues when I plug my phone into my laptop via USB, the ringtones don't 'stick' if they are on SD but do if they are on the phone.
YMMV, just something I've run into...

My music is in MP3 format. I use Audacity on my PC to edit a clip of the song and save it a s a new MP3 or WAV file. Then I just copy it to my phone. I know on my old Android phone, I had to use an app called RingDroid to set it as a ringtone. I didn't have to do that on my SGS3.
