He was truly an amazing musician and songwriter, it's only every now and again that someone like him comes along. Multitalented and multifaceted for sure. I would not consider myself a fan but did like his stuff and never minded giving a listen. It was fresh and ahead of it's time, all of it. Man, he could really rip it up.

What a superb musician he was. He did absolutely everything well, not just song writing - a virtuoso guitarist, singer, and could really dance too. The world has lost a phenomenal talent.

@LV426 hit the nail on the head,.. Prince was almost unique in that he could write, play and produce all to the same high standard. Whether you liked his output or not, you couldn't help but admire it for the sheer quality.

Well done 2016, you've taken another unique talent from us.
