Robotek multiplayer : Second to play = loss?

how do you manage to counter the player when you play second? I lose all my games when I play second or I need incredible luck / dumb opponent.

Any tips to counter this? Ruins the fun imo, maybe I'm inexperienced as second to play, I need help

When going second, I try to be more aggressive with my mainframe attacks. I like to start with TankBot, then Shield, then Attack, regardless of what the other player does. After those three moves (depending on my TankBot's remaining HP) I just go on the offensive with attacks. You are at a disadvantage going second but it doesn't necessarily have to result in a loss.

Any one else have any tips?

I don't have a tip but I know I am sick winning and then my opponent spins 3 of a kind 3 times in a row....
