Root [Rogers & S4] PLz help

Hello i need some help with my rooted htc one x.i was in the recovery mode and i did a wipe in factory reset button and now i cant even start the phone :(
i tried to perform system reboot and this msg poops "system is not installed preventing reboot" plz i need some help
 
Which variant do you own? The S4 or the Tegra 3 Quad Core?

Did you take a backup before you started wiping stuff?

All you'll need to do is copy a ROM.zip file to the SD Card whilst in recovery (you'll need to connect to a PC, head to mounts and storage, then select mount USB Storage and it will appear as a disk drive on your PC) and flash that as you would a ROM.
 
iam totally new to this phone where can i see that i am running the phone unly through recovery mode,i Cant open the phone

It should be a zip file, not rar?

Drag and drop the zip file on to the phone storage. Once it's there, unmount and disconnect from the PC. In recovery, head to install, Install zip card, select the zip file you just put on the card and let it should install a ROM called ViperXL for you. It's not stock, but it will get your phone back up and running.
 
Hi, I have an HTC One X
it says
Evita PVT Ship S-ON RL
HBOOT 2.14.0000
I already unlocked the bootloader, but I can't get the USB to say Charge only.
none of the oneXRoot functions work, they all fail.
is there something I missed?
Please help, thanks.
 
I'm not sure how to tell if its a ATT/S4 variant, it says HTC on the top,

i've tried a few links,

that one allowed me to unlock the bootloader, but nogo on the root.

after i tried the cwm, my bootloader now says tampered :'(

I hope i didn't miss anything, but if there's a way to remove the 'tampered' in the bootloader that would be greatly appreciated.
 
I figured out how to solve it, my recovery was messed up after trying something on one of guides. so i flashed a new recovery, then I did something with an SU.zip. that allowed me to install TWRP. SU'd the phone, now its all good.
sometimes not even third times the charm, but well worth the search.

I see youve solved your issue,but you need to figure out if you have an X or XL so you don't brick it flashing roms.

Simply boot to hboot and check the model. If you see "evita" then you have a dual core s4 one XL. If you see "endeavor_u" then you have a tegra 3 quad core one X :)

is the phone s off,or s on?

if its s off,you have the option to change relocked to locked (reference this thread)

if your s on,best you can do is relocked

in a nutshell,all you need to do is
-relock your bootloader
-run an ruu

do you know what your original build number is?

another option is to simply restore a stock nandroid backup,and then use recovery to erase all your personal data

this file should be on your phone allready ;) did you not make a backup of your stock rom prior to flashing viper?
 
No i delete all software in the phone and i installed only viper,i dont think my phone has it.cause when i try to do factory reset viper is still on
 
doing a factory reset will not change the software. youll need to go to recovery,choose the backup/restore option,then restore a backup that you made(with this same menu option) prior to installing viper.

if you did not make a backup,take this as a lesson learned. you should ALWAYS make a backup of a stock,or any good running rom.

with no backup,then well need some more information from your phone. if you can follow these directions,and post the output here,we can help you find an ruu:
first download and install these drivers: revolutionary drivers (mirror)

then,download this small file:
mini-adb.zip

-unzip it,and place the unzipped folder onto the root of your C drive(not inside a folder)

-open a cmd window(with win 7,click start bubble,type "command" or "cmd" in hte search box)

-now change to your mini-adb directory(assuming you didnt chagne the name). type in the black cmd window that opened on your PC:
cd c:\mini-adb

-pull the battery in your phone for a few seconds. hold volume down,then power. hold them both until you see the white/colored writing hboot screen

-select "fastboot" from the hboot menu with the vol rocker/power button

-in your cmd window type:
fastboot devices

it should output your phones serial number. if so youre good to go. if not,youre apparently having a driver issue. i usually recomend these drivers from Revolutionary: modified htc drivers download and install the drivers(you should just have to run that file). afterwards,unplug your phone,plug it back in. make sure its in fastboot. as soon as you get a result from "fastboot devices" your ready to procede to the next step.

-in your cmd window,type(or copy/paste,is much easier):
fastboot getvar all

-copy the info that outputs here. right click in your cmd window,click mark,highlight it all in white. hit enter. paste the info here. it will help us know which ruu for you to run. :)
