I would like to hold this case in my hand first and feel it its comfortable for my hand.. Cus the looks i do like very much.

I dont like urban dpm personally (been there done that) but Im interested in any hardcore case that doesnt distract from the look and feel (size) of the phone.

I would not purchase one because it is likely more money than I want to drop for a case. I am familiar with the company and their products, however.

I might consider a "homemade" machined billet aluminum iPad case, just because I dearly love billet.

I don't use cases for my phone. I generally like holsters for carrying my phone around. When I use my phone, I remove it from the holster and use it uncased.

a nice raw material case would look great. be it kevlar, carbon fibre, billet aluminum, all of those would look awesome

Yup. I do not work with carbon fiber but I know absolutely how to anodize and powder coat. Perhaps buy in bulk and sell them out of the back on the car?

I am thinking that a few dollars can be made with phone accessories. Not sure which idea to pursue, but there are dollars waiting.

I'd support a Forum member if they made a good one. :)

The biggest issue I would see is that there are a TON of android phones (can't make a one-size fits all).

CF is actually fairly easy to work with, if you buy sheets, its about as simple as applying a vinyl wrap, even if you want to make your own sheets its no harder than dealing with fiberglass.

That is why I discounted any chance of making an Android phone case. Too much work, too many models. The iPhone is ideal because there is only one model. Much easier to deal with.

These days, all you need is a few CAD drawings to upload to a manufacturer and you do not need to machine anything, just do whatever finishing work like coloring the cases as well as packaging.

Apple also provides detailed specs for designers of cases and accessories, and that simplifies.

I was thinking of making a higher end stylus, however.

For the record, Bob is NOT in the business of manufacturing accessories, just thinking out loud.

Would you purchase a solid billet aluminum holster with genuine alligator straps? Solidly built, weighs about three pounds, offers maximum protection.

... and people wonder why there aren't a million and a half android accessories! :( :(

I think there ARE a million and a half Android accessories. Or so it seems to me.

If I were going into the accessory business, I would go Apple. Lots can be said about a huge and growing market and essentially, only one set of design specifications to worry about.

I hate fiberglass, just sayin.

As for CF, that would take a bit of study. I think metal is cooler, but that is just me.

Yeah, one for each android phone :p

Agreed.

My impression of the various heavy duty cases I see for phones is to protect it from drops. The various holsters I have used are designed so it secures the phone in place when I'm not actually handling it. A holster with a good flap that keeps the phone secure and allows easy opening is what I need.

What you suggest seems to be overkill for me. As for any added shock protection, I do not feel I really need it. I so far, my leather holster offers enough protection to my phone in the event my waste makes incidental contact with some hard object like a table edge. Although I'm sure such a holster that you suggests offers better protection, I do not feel I need something so heavy duty.

Me thinks I was sorta kidding.

Leather cases do work well. Just as long as the leather covers a solid billet aluminum inner case.

Me thinks I was sorta kidding here, too.

No, because it's fugly. I hate camo. I have a transparent rubber type casing on my Galaxy S, keeps it safe from knocks and drops, and in good condition.
