A dev over on central has put together a ROM based on stock that is pretty straightforward. It is the stock Optimus S ROM with Sprint Bloatware removed. It is using Picasticks overclock Kernel and is running at 748mHz. He has included ad blocking, superuser, and wifi hotspot in the built.
From what I've seen of it so far, it is fast, stable, and straightforward. If you are looking for a simple ROM to get rid of the bloat and speed things up a bit, this may be your Huckleberry.
