[linaro] cookie & cream linaro edition

This rom is very fast and very smooth. I haven't been running it long, but haven't seen any problems so far.

It has the tablet mode and you can select the status bar to be on the left or right side.

Tablet mode does not affect the DPI.

Its about the same really. You can just move the status to the left or right. I've gone back to EOS for now. I like doing the nightlies. I also have nandroids of stock, Linaro and EOS. I'm ready for anything. :D

Looks really solid. Haven't flashed anything yet, but this may be the first one. Did you say it is overclocked or did you flash a sep. kernel?

There are 2 builds for this rom. One with stock kernel and one with motley's linaro optimized kernel you can o/c to 1600MHz. It does the same as the other 2 kernels I've tried though. When your screen turns off it reverts back to 1300MHz. Apparently its a Jelly Bean issue I think the devs are working on.

Can I ask a silly question? Is overclocking really necessary with a quad core processor? Isn't it just unnecessarily taxing the battery?

It probably isn't a "need", but often is a "want".... :D

Yes, it's mostly an unnecessary battery drain. The reason I do is mostly because I can. :D

I started building and overclocking computers over a decade ago to get better frame rate in games. Its just something fun to do, until you put somebody's eye out.

It's also fun to run the benchmarks and upload to the web so that damn Samsung Galaxy Nexus takes 2nd place. Where it belongs.:p
