Is there any way at all to move apps to the sdcard. I don't have much installed at all and already it says that I have insufficient storage available to install apps. I have already removed what bloatware I could. I have already tried apps that edit the platform.xml and add the extra permission but still apps like Link2SD cannot move apps to sdcard.

No it didn't work. Also it didn't have any of your data in it. The update tool still won't recognize my phone so as of now there's not a whole lot I can do. I even got ahold of zte customer support and they said their technical team would call me later and that never happened lol. Looks like I'm gonna have to wait for someone to make a flashable kitkat ROM before I can do anything. Which sucks lol.

I have no idea. I've installed the drivers that came with the update multiple times and it still won't see it.
Was you able to uninstall old drivers first

The update button is black and under it says open in blue, after I plug my phone in the update button greys out. I've done the update before and used it for a few days until I accidentally soft bricked my phone and I had to flash the stock 4.1.2 ROM. I hope I didn't mess something up and I won't be able to update it again /:

I got root access and philz touch recovery!
STEPS:
1. Extract and put stayboogy_philz-touch-recovery-zte-z998.zip on the root of ADB and Fastboot folder.
2. Send UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zip and stayboogy_philz-touch-recovery-zte-z998.img to phone.
3. Type adb reboot bootloader in terminal.
4. Type fastboot boot stayboogy_philz-touch-recovery-zte-z998.img in terminal.
5. Flash UPDATE-SuperSU-2.46.zip to phone.
6. Once your rooted, download the app "Rashr" and flash stayboogy_philz-touch-recovery-zte-z998.img to phone.
7. YOU ARE DONE
