Root Rom Manager fails to do anything How can I backup my Rom

I have stock GB and have installed Rom Manager. Flashed recovery 2.5.0.7 but I can not boot to Clockwork recovery. Manage and restore backups shows a grey screen. I have tried ROM backup and it still does not work.

I am trying to backup so I can install rooted GB on the phone.

Download DROID 2 bootstrap from the market and you can make backups with no issue. Do NOT use DROID X Bootstrap for gingerbread backups.

No I am not rooted.
I want to root GB.
With Froyo, I rooted the Stock ROM. but with GB it seems that the process is different. I find out that I have to install a rooted ROM on my phone. So I decide to backup my Stock GB just in case.

What am I missing? I have to say I am confused. I have read a lot of how to guides but none is clear. and none tell me how to backup my existing ROM before I install another ROM.

The only way to have rooted ota GB (.596) is to go from stock froyo, root it, then apply the 2 part Rooted GB Tom from p3droid. I'm pretty sure you can sbf back to froyo from stock gb.

Check the stickies for the full run down on the steps.

Well sure you can use it. You just have to make sure to never turn on USB debugging lol. So just be safe and stick with d2
