Root ROM Manager with AmonRA Recovery Installed

xxkmanxx

Lurker
Can i use ROM Manager if i used AmonRA Recovery to root my phone, like can i have both recoveries on my phone, idk I'm kinda new to rooting and Roms and everything?

Thanks

i would avoid the use of rom manager all together, personally, for several reasons:
1) its an APP in a working ROM,and as such will not always be available to you. ite better to know how to manually flash/wipe/backup/etc. manually in recovery.

2) with the rezound, the kernel must be installed by installing the boot.img in either fastboot or hboot. becasue of this,i dont believe there is a way that rom manager can properly flash roms that need a different kernel, that will boot

3)rom manager is not reliable even on phones that can install kernels in recovery,IMO. during my time here in various forums alot of the panic,"my phone wont boot" posts seem to start out with "i installed rom xyz in rom manager..." ;)

my advice is to get to know your phone. learn how to flash your roms manually by extracting/flashing the boot image, and manually wiping/backing up/flashing in Amon recovery. more specific directions here: http://androidforums.com/rezound-all-things-root/499172-how-manually-flash-roms.html

my 2 cents,for what theyre worth :)

Just a FYI, but there's a new v3.14 of Amon Ra up over at XDA...

Changes for 3.14 :
Added backup/restore for android_secure on internal_sd. Internal_sd is the internal storage of device. External is the removable micro_sd. Stockish roms may have .android_secure on internal and aosp roms will always have it on external. You will need to know the location of it in your rom or else select both options to make sure its backed up.

Changed font color back to cyan blue. I'll see if its possible to have a txt file on sdcard that lets you select font color in the future (again if its possible).
